These terms govern use of Wake Forest Residents Directory. By using the service, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service or its links.

1. Service Description

Wake Forest Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections for Wake Forest, North Carolina. It does not host a government record system and has no affiliation with a government office, court, library, or custodian.

2. Acceptable Use

Use the service only for lawful personal, historical, civic, property, or other legitimate purposes. Do not use it to stalk, harass, threaten, impersonate, defame, expose a protected address, or otherwise harm another person. Do not attempt to bypass a source's access controls or submit false information to a custodian.

3. Consumer Reporting Limits

Wake Forest Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Information available through the service may not be used for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other FCRA-regulated decision.

4. External Sources

Links can lead to Town, county, state, library, archive, and other websites. Their availability, fees, policies, search methods, and content are outside our control. Confirm the current rules with the source before relying on an external result.

5. No Warranty

The service is offered as is and as available. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, or suitability of a page, external link, directory entry, or record description.

6. Liability Limits

To the extent permitted by law, Wake Forest Residents Directory and its operators are not liable for losses, damages, claims, or consequences arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the service or a linked source.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wake Forest Residents Directory and its operators from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your violation of these terms, misuse of a linked record, or unlawful conduct.

8. Intellectual Property

The service's original text, organization, and design are protected by applicable law. Government records and third-party materials remain subject to the rights, access rules, and reuse conditions of their respective custodians or owners.

9. Term Updates

We may revise these terms when the service, legal environment, or operational practices change. Posting the revised terms here is notice of the change. Continued use after posting means you accept the revision.

10. Access Restrictions

We may suspend or limit access where we reasonably believe a visitor is violating these terms, creating a security concern, or using the service in a way that risks harm or liability.

11. North Carolina Law

These terms are governed by North Carolina law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. N.C.G.S. Chapter 132 governs access to many government-held public records, while record-specific statutes can restrict vital records, protected addresses, court files, and other sensitive material. Those statutes do not make this private service a custodian.

12. Severability

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent allowed by law.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page. Questions about an official record should be sent to the Town, county, state, library, or court custodian that holds it.
