Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party results provider, not retained by our own servers. If you contact us, we receive the message and contact details you choose to include and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Our hosting may record ordinary technical logs, including IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. These records are reviewed in aggregate for service operation and basic usage trends. Cookies or comparable tools may support analytics or advertising measurement where used.
How Data Is Used
Contact information is used to answer the message that prompted it. Technical information is used to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the service. We do not sell a visitor's search query as a separate product.
Outside Links
Wake Forest Residents Directory links to Town, county, state, library, archive, and other outside sources. Their privacy practices, forms, cookies, and record rules are their own. Review the policy of the external service before entering information or ordering a record.
Who May Receive Data
Hosting, analytics, advertising, and search-results providers may process the technical or form data needed for their service. Information may also be disclosed where law requires it or where it is reasonably needed to protect people, property, or the service from misuse.
Security Practices
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards for the limited information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Avoid sending Social Security numbers, financial account information, passwords, or protected record details through a general contact message.
Visitors Under 18
The service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child supplied information through the service, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
Your Privacy Choices
You may ask about or request deletion of information in a contact message, subject to legal and operational needs. North Carolina had no verified enacted comprehensive consumer-privacy law with a universal deletion right in the research reviewed for this site. Government-held records are separate: North Carolina Public Records Law, N.C.G.S. Chapter 132, and record-specific confidentiality rules control requests to the custodian. Use the contact page for a site-data question and the official office for a public-record correction or restriction request.
Policy Changes
This policy may be revised as the service, its providers, or applicable rules change. The current version on this page applies from the time it is posted. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
